I guess it's time for an update. It looks like it's been a couple of weeks since I was last here. Oops. Back to school has been busy for us at home, and for me at work.
Luke is grabbing at things now. He can pick up a toy and shake it around. He's also very good at getting his hand to his mouth (on purpose) and sucks his thumb. Very cute. He can roll from his tummy to his back. He can roll from side to side when he's on his back, but not all the way over yet. He has conversations with us. He adores both Carmen and Nick. They shower him with hugs and kisses. Nick likes to talk to him about his day. Carmen likes to try and hold him. She has become quite the mother hen with Luke. All very sweet. He's still fat, and his eyes are still blue! Yay! It looks like we will have a blue-eyed child.
Carmen is almost two, and believe me, we have hit the terrible. She throws the funnies tantrums. It's so hard not to laugh...She has developed quite a vocabulary. Lots of almost complete sentences, mixed in with lots of phrases. Her personality is very bold, and funny. She's super sweet and cuddly. She still love hats and shoes, but her newest obsessions would have to be the Simpsons, and Sponge Bob. She can sing the theme songs for these two shows.
Nick has started first grade. Today is day three, and he seems to be enjoying it. His teacher is very young and cute, so that always helps in Nicks case. This is her first year teaching...That always scares me.
Carmen is adjusting to Nick being gone during the day. She likes to carry around one of his old backpacks and pretend to go bye-bye. She fills it up with her toys. She is so excited to have him back home in the afternoons. For now Nick has been indulging her with lots of play time when he gets home..He's such a great big brother!
I'm hoping that my days with the two babies will begin to settle down. They nap on diff. schedules, so I've been able to devote alone time with each of them. That's been really nice. I know that Carmen really enjoys playing with me with out Luke around! We read, or play with legos, or color. She really likes to sing and dance, so I'll turn the radio on, and we'll dance around for awhile. Luke just likes attention! He doesn't care what we do, as long as he's a part of it!
We're having a garage sale on Saturday. Everything must go!! I should probably go work on that for now..
