The kids got up super early to check out what Santa brought. Carmen came into our room around 6 to tell me that she got the Easy Bake Oven, just like she asked for. I think her and Luke managed to drag Dad out of bed for a little bit, but I ignored all of them!
About an hour later I got up to start the day, while Dad managed to sneak back to bed!

purse from Santa. It has a set of keys, a bracelet, a lipstick, a pocket mirror and a dollar bill:

I let the kids play with some moon sand that they also got from Santa, while I had some coffee and while we all waited for Dad to get up and make breakfast:
Mary got this After Dad made breakfast, we let the kids open up the rest of their gifts. This one was the *big* one. We had them all open it together. They had no clue what it was going to be:
Yep! We finally got a Wii!!
Here are a couple of shots of Mary opening up her gifts. It did not take her long to figure the whole gift thing out:
Carmen asked for the tattoo barbie. I hadn't heard of it, but Grandpa and Grandma in Kansas found it. It's actually pretty neat. The barbie comes with tattoos, which are really little stickers, and tattoos to make screen prints on the doll clothes. It didn't take Carmen long to figure out what she was doing:
Mary is just the cutest! I had to lock her in the highchair with a cookie so that the other kids could play with their new toys.
Here everyone is playing the Wii. This is going to be a great family toy! Maybe I'll get to play it too!! We got each of the kids their *own* game, and then we also have the sports game that came with the system, Mario Cart and Wii Resorts. Nick got Zelda, Carmen got Littlest Pet Shop, and Luke got Mario Smash Brothers...Lots of fun stuff.

Merry Christmas! Thanks for the update. I keep checking - almost daily - to see what the Rose family has been up to. The kids are growing up way to fast. It would be nice if we can get back to TX to see everyone for just a plain old visit and not a wedding. :) Maybe in 2010? We will have to see what happens. Too bad it takes soooo much green stuff to do the trip.
We had a rather quiet Christmas. Christmas eve we had church at 4PM and then we had Bruce's sister, Susan and her husband, Orrie, for dinner around 7PM along with Marissa's friend, Shayne. After things were cleaned up in the kitchen it was time for Bruce to read the Christmas story (an annual event). Then it was onto opening a few christmas presents.
As we had storm/blizzard warnings out for the Christmas holiday we postponed the Moteberg christmas until Jan. 2nd. This was a good thing as we have had a lot of snow, some wind, various roads closed.
Christmas day it was the four of us along with Shayne, who braved it coming from Fosston. The weather was not too bad yet our road and driveway is snow packed. He has a four wheel drive pu so he was able to get here and back home again safely.
This morning, Sat., 12/26/09, at around 7:30am things looked as if the storm was done. But, that was not to be as another round of snow started around 9am and has not stopped. (Even though the weatherman stated it was to end at noon.) It is to continue throughout the night time hours. Thankfully, the A&W called to say the girls did not have to come into work today as we would not be able to get out of the driveway or down our road to the highway. It is nice we do not have to worry about anyone going anywhere today.
So, to keep busy, MarJenna and I are making homemade bread- buns along with cinnamon & carmel rolls, and hope to make rosettes, krumkake and possibly, bon bons. We will have to see how much energy we have and what we get accomplished.
Well, our bread dough needs to be punched down so I better go for now.
